Celebrity engagements this week – Cheryl, Ashley and Danica

With that the phone rang and I was being asked for my opinion on the stunner. The press wanted to get my view on her engagement and wedding ring. They had received some journo requests and were looking for expert comment. I didn't hesitate. I mean have you seen the ring? It's gorgeous! There was only one image available and that was the one that Cheryl had taken herself and posted on her Instagram account, and it's the same one that's now on my Instagram account too.

My views are that for the flamboyant and beautiful girl that she is, and the glitzy lifestyle that Cheryl leads on screen, in particular with X-Factor, I feel her ring is very understated. I think that to have a large central long diamond, in this case her emerald cut, look smaller than it actually is, takes brilliant design work. There aren't many stones you can set along side the emerald cut that can carry it off, and the trapeziums work a treat. Coupled next to her pavé set elegant diamond wedding band, I think they are the perfect couple. Yes you can argue she now has a gap between rings, and yes you can say that it should have been fitted to sit perfectly alongside the engagement ring, but you know it's surprising how many women actually don't mind once they find the perfect combination.

So, the Huffington Post publication came out first and it was lovely to see. I've been in the press before, but this felt slightly different. After that I saw a small flurry of other articles from publications including Yahoo Celebrity, Ahlan Live and Digital Spy. It was all very exciting for me. It didn't end there though. Wednesday the news broke that Ashley Hart, the Australian model, was engaged to her longtime love Buck Palmer. She announced it on Instagram and captioned the snap: 'Don't know a better way to say this... ENGAGED!!! @buckpalmer.'

 

The same day we also found out that Danica McKellar, formerly of The Wonder Years, was to marry her partner Scott Sveslosky. On Wednesday the 39-year-old beauty shared a photo of her new diamond engagement ring on Twitter with the caption, 'So...can you guess what my big news is??' Happy news all round then. Both Ashley and Danica were featured in the Mail Online and I was asked to pass comment on both as you can see from the clippings.

All in all a pretty good week and things can only get better. Thank you to the following publications for quoting me.
