Joseph Sterling is gone! Long live Lewis Malka

What does Lewis Malka have in common with Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent and Peter Parker?

No, it's not that Lewis has a secret identity as a super hero, it is in fact that like the others mentioned, Lewis has an alter ego. Where it's true that you never see Bruce, Clark or Peter ever in the same room as Batman, Superman or Spiderman, you will never see Lewis in the same room as Joseph Sterling! The reason is fairly simple. Let me explain.

Back in 2003 when he started his fine jewellery business, Lewis was looking for a name that he believed sounded good for the business he was involved at the time with. Prior to this he'd been in the trade for 13 years and wanted to start afresh. Not wanting his own name associated at the time as he wanted people he spoke to to have a fresh outlook on his new venture, as the style and clientele he was looking to attract was very different to the previous demographic. Lewis recalls; "I came up with the name one evening whilst hosting a dinner party. The first bit was relatively easy as Joseph is my middle name, but what surname was I going to adopt? Well at the time of the dinner party the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me was on and in the film James takes on the persona of marine biologist Robert Sterling. Well my friend suddenly said "That's it". And when you consider that sterling is a grade of silver and if you look it up in the thesaurus one synonym is exceptional, then it all seemed to fit. That is where and how Joseph Sterling was created".

Now roll forward to 2014 and a new identity, his original persona, is what Lewis wants in the forefront of peoples minds. "In today's society and the way we all her with social media, I want to come out from behind the shadows and do away with all the confusion. I'm very pro-active on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and want people to interact with me on a day to day basis. In my industry there are lots of myths, lots of secrets and too many people, rightly or wrongly, hide behind their business name. I'm happy to break the mould if it helps give my clients peace of mind, and it does".

So out with the old and in with the new. The new being Lewis Malka London. For the first time Lewis has a collection of ready to wear engagement rings, together with new branding and website this is the first step towards a journey worthy of any superhero. "I believe that when dealing with clients there needs to be a level of transparency and that if you can give the client more than they need then they will remain with you for along time". Strap yourself in, it's going to be fun. Joseph Sterling is gone! Long live Lewis Malka London.
