On World Diamond Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on what these stones mean as carriers of beauty, stories, memories, and legacies.
There’s something truly special about natural diamonds. Each one has traveled from deep within the earth, shaped over millions of years, to arrive in our hands as something rare and enduring. I mostly work with natural diamonds because of their timeless beauty, uniqueness, and the authenticity they bring to every piece I create. While I can work with lab-grown diamonds when requested, I love natural stones for their history and character.
Jewellery is never just about the sparkle (although sparkle helps!). I’ve had the privilege of helping clients transform inherited family rings into pieces they can wear every day, modern yet sentimental. Turning a grandmother’s ring into a design that reflects a client’s personal style, while keeping the soul of the original, is incredibly rewarding. It’s a way of letting these diamonds continue to be loved and passed down through generations. It’s a true example of a diamond being here long before us, and loved long after us.
Every ring I craft, every stone I source and set, is part of that journey.The designs I create with my clients are about making something that lasts forever, in beauty and in memory. That’s what natural diamonds represent: authenticity, endurance, and connection.
